Life in 36Five Mugs by SMART FOSSILS
"Socialism, in general, has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it." - Thomas Sowell
I often turn to my past to understand what makes people believe they have to put up with what they do not accept. I never thought that many years later, since my escape from socialism, would I ever have to go back to analyze it. However, not without despise, I dig into my memories to find the historical clues buried under a thick layer of time.
I must admit I am better equipped to deal with the overwhelming to some issues. Attributed to my real-life experiences, the ability to navigate through becomes natural. But it hurts immensely to see the beautiful country that I chose as my new forever home falling apart. It is scary to see people become so angered that they resort to extreme proclamations to defend their beliefs.
What scares me the most is how confused some have become. What's even worse, I know where this confusion may lead. I feel as I must attempt to dilute the deadly concoction before it poisons many more.
The processes I witness today appear very similar to one of the most destructive ideologies, socialism.
Socialism controls the minds in a way similar to the process of vulcanization. It uses the heating process to harden the mind. It repeats this process endlessly. At some point, socialism puts the hardened mind to work for its benefit. Based on the achieved level of stiffness, the perception becomes dull and indifferent to the alternatives.
In other words, socialism achieves its results by subjecting the mind to an endless process of confusion.
There are many tools available to achieve the desired level of confusion. From endorsement of the growth of ideological hysteria to defining free speech. Not that such a thing as free speech exists in socialism, but the process of indoctrination does take time.
Confusion tires the intellect and eventually celebrates the phony victory over the logic. It may take years or a few days, but the result will always be the same if the freedom of intellect is not protected.
One is allowed to do or say whatever they please, but anyone else suffers consequences for attempting to do the same. There is no fairness in the process and this lack of fairness leads to confusion.
Confusion leads to frustration and often ends with apathy. It is hard to deny the fact that our society today is suffering the results of years of indifference to politics.
We had it too good and too long to be bothered to develop concerns with the issues that were outside of our comfort zone. Now alarm clocks are going off every day, everywhere, and barely awake, we bump into each other trying to reach for the pot of coffee. The question is - who brewed that coffee?

Waking up is only a small part of the day. Many challenges await us outside the door of our comfort zone. Do we bravely step outside that door and face them, or do we stay inside, screaming our lungs out, but no one hears?
Do not let frustration get your mind stalled. Do not succumb to the confusion. Get the actual knowledge, and do not discard the trusted maps of history. Search for the facts, find them, verify them, and then search again. Equipped with knowledge, you will avoid confusion.
Unless you destined yourself to entrust your life to the ideology of complete obedience and give up the most valuable possession you have - freedom in all of its beauty.
The confusion helps the rapid growth of the mind crippling ideology and keeps it invisible until it is too late. It successfully covers the purpose but not the target, which is the set of individual freedoms.
In the initial stage of development, socialism does not set clear boundaries for individual minds on purpose. It only throws more and more fuel in to begin the brutal process of suppression once the logic is heated up enough.
Regardless of the loud proclamation of being destined to achieve equality for all, socialist ideology quietly works on destroying it. At the same time, socialism employs ignorance when it comes to dealing with the power of the constructive argument. As a result, the intellect succumbs to confusion.
In a state of confusion, the crowd becomes much more vulnerable, and it is much more likely to fall into the trap of ideology. Desperate to find the direction the masses would follow any leader on the promise to be shown the way out.
Desire to find the way out is often stronger than the motivation to evaluate the path. Socialism demands that one has to become fully obedient to the leader to see the light again.
